BusCARD 4.0 IoT unveils its visual identity: introducing the logo of an innovative EU project
As part of the EU-funded project BusCARD 4.0 IoT, reference number IP.1.1.03.0015, implemented under the Integrated Territorial Programme through the Call “Strengthening Strategic Partnerships for Innovation in the Process of Industrial Transition”, the project’s official logo has been developed.
The new visual identity was designed to clearly and recognisably communicate the system’s core elements: public transport, smart contactless card, and the digital wallet as a symbol of modern mobility and everyday practicality. The central graphical element of the logo stylises the front of a bus, while its shape and proportions also resemble a digital wallet. This dual symbolism strengthens the association with integrated functionalities, mobile and card-based payment systems, and advanced technologies serving end-users.
The design has been carefully developed to be:
• technologically sophisticated,
• intuitive and accessible to end-users,
• and easily applicable across various communication and promotional formats: from print to digital platforms.
The BusCARD 4.0 IoT project officially started on January 1, 2025, and will be implemented over a period of 24 months. The project is led by PENTA, in collaboration with partners DS&S, EINEL, SUPERIUS, and the ISTRIAN UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES. The project’s goal is to develop an innovative Driver Control Computer (DCC) that will unify the functions of multiple separate devices: an onboard computer, ticket validator, and printer, into a single “all-in-one” solution for public transport and logistics vehicles. The project is currently in the industrial research phase, during which a functional prototype is being developed. This includes the integration of hardware and software components into a coherent system. Upon completion of the research phase, a system review and optimisation will be conducted, followed by experimental development and real-world testing.
